Understanding Rising

Now is the time for adventure, enthusiasm, and independence. Expand your awareness as we welcome the New Moon in Sagittarius. There might be a draining energy around you since it is winter time and the days are short, making it feel like the darkness drags on and on. Plus, you probably have many people and things coming at you as we’re in the midst of the holiday season. On many levels, so much for being free of outside control!

However, if you could be the epitome of adventure, enthusiasm, and indepence right now, what would that look like? You could go for a cold-weather walk or a hike that you’ve not been on before, or drive a different way to and from work just to see some new sights. If you WFH, make a point to work from a different space in your home every once in a while, or spice up your morning routine by going outside as soon as you wake up. When you do wake up in the morning, you could shift your mindset of your own volition, and feel excited about your day instead of dreading it. As well, you could build moments of solitude into your schedule, free to be just you, away from others, away from planning and shopping for the holidays, and even away from your phone and computer. Do this for as long as you can and as frequently as possible over the next several weeks, even if it truly is only a few moments of your day. It will make a difference.

Think of these qualities on a global scale too. What comes to heart and mind? How can you nurture your faith, hope, and vision via your adventurous side as a way to transcend the mundane? How can you bring new ideas into the world not only for your benefit, but for the benefit of others? What if it means simply being you and dropping the extra stories about why you’re not doing what you want to be doing? Here’s a tip that many of us are always learning: do what you want to do even if you’re not “good” at it. Chances are, it will still bring you joy and joy is palpable and needed. Expanding your horizons and gaining confidence and optimism from broader perspectives are also themes with this new moon. This all becomes possible as you follow your instinct and do what you want to do as your life’s path or purpose. It might seem daunting at first, but the small moments end up becoming all the big ones. Start small, nothing extra is needed. The key is, you really must trust that sentiment for it to be true.

A great leveling out of sorts will become apparent as you do you. This is where understanding comes from. It’s the middle path, it’s the place where compassion nurtures existence, and it’s where you feel whole and complete. There is a tendency to be overly optimistic as contentment sweeps over you. The pendulum starts swinging the other way, and expectations become the focus. In the end, there is no end. So even if your expectations aren’t met, keep setting them, and let your focus be on the move. This movement and ability to shift as needed is all a part of the adventure of living!
